This week we have another Lateral Thinking Exercise.

Here is this week's question:

You are preparing to host a Fabulous Fantasy Dinner Party. It will be a scrumptious dinner, with all of the best of your favourite dishes. Name three people (living or otherwise) who have been invited, and why you invited them. Name three of the foods you will be serving, and why you chose them.

RESPONSES:

Gord invited Steven Hawkings, Albert Einstein, and Moses. He served them Unleavened Bread (for Passover), Black Hole Pudding (for Steven), and an Apple (in memory of Sir Isaac Newton) for Albert.
[He didn't say why he invited them. Oh, and is Moses the famous one with the tables, or my (former?) Electronic Girlfriend in Iowa?—Mike]

Rick's Dinner Party was like this:
Jim Morrison (living in N. Africa) because he's Jim, and I'm sure he would have a few interesting stories to tell about his disappearance. Of course, I would serve chicken because he eats "more chicken any man ever seen" and Jack Daniels because he's Jim.
William Wallace (I assume he's dead) because with all the sensation around Braveheart it would be nice to hear what really happened. I would serve him pizza & beer (LGD) just to give him something different.
Marilynn Monroe because I wouldn't mind hearing the inside scoop on the Kennedy's and she's not to bad looking. I would serve her champagne and strawberries because that seems to be the thing to serve beautiful women.

Lewis replied:
Louis Jourard. My namesake and grandfather. I understand he was a very interesting human being in his own right. This aside from all the usual questions I have about roots, origins etc.....
Duane Allman. Because he was probably the greatest slide guitarist that ever lived.
Uma Thurman - No, just kidding. That was for Penn Gillette. (Is he on the list? - maybe you should include him.) My real choice would be Robin Williams — I think the exercise to the ribcage and cerebellum would be invigorating.
There are others but their evening would include a movie and......
As for the meal, hmmm. You've had all of these before as I have many times. But why mess with success?
—Caesar salad. Made from scratch at the table.
—Prime Rib — because I love it and I make a great one. With all the usual trimmings. This would include yorkshire pudding (only made it once, and I really like it) and all the typical high cholesteral things that go with it... veggies (candied, of course), potatoes (roasted & smothered in butter) etc...etc. This would have to be Canadian (not British — Ha Ha Hee Hee) beef.
—Dessert would be an orange sherbet drizzled in Grand Marnier and melted chocolate (my own creation) and to die for.
—And of course malt scotch before and after. What else????

Gee, now I'm feeling hungry!
