>Do you ever have that feeling that you just need to get away from it all, to find some retreat far from the hustle and bustle of the big city?

Speaking of a retreat, Linda and I might be going on another short biking jaunt this year. We're thinking about a one-day ride along the Niagara Penninsula to see the fall colours, weather permitting, of course.

Here is this week's question:

In the mountains there is a cabin. Inside, three people lie dead. The cabin is locked from the inside and all three died at the same time. Although there is no sign of a struggle or of any weapons, their deaths were violent but accidental. They knew they were going to die immediately before they died. They died because they were in the cabin. If they had gotten out of the cabin three hours earlier they would have lived. What happened?

ANSWER:

It is a plane cabin. The plane crashed, killing both pilots and the passenger.

A common response was that the cabin has been crushed by an avalanche, seconded by asphyxiation. While this would certainly be a violent death, it wouldn't necessarily mean that all three would die at the same time.

>It's Turkey Time! Everybody have a safe and happy Thanksgiving holiday.

Shelley's Aunt Frances gets a bonus point for suggesting they died a violent death because "they ate the turkey from part II of your message."
Reminds me of the old joke about "the woman who was complaining that her first husband died from eating poisoned mushrooms, and her second husband died from eating poisoned mushrooms, and her third husband? Well, he died from a broken skull. He wouldn't eat the mushrooms!" I'm not going over to her place for dinner!  $8-)
