This one was such an oldie that almost everybody got it.

Here is this week's question:

Carey Queen works on the 35th floor of an office tower. Most mornings Carey will ride the elevator as far as the 25th floor, then climb the stairs to the 35th. On mornings when it's raining, however, he will always ride the elevator to the 35th floor. Since Carey is neither fond of exercise nor superstitious, what could be the reason for this rather bizarre behaviour?

ANSWER:

Carey Queen is a dwarf. He is only able to reach as high as the 25th floor button on the elevator, unless he has his umbrella.

Yosa suggested that Carey "is one of those types that loves to see women wet." I refuse to comment on the grounds that anything I say may tend to incriminate me.

There were lots of answers from Bhupinder, proving that there is always more than one solution to a problem when you just think laterally enough. "If I was him, I'd rather prefer carrying an umbrella everyday than climbing 10 floors. But then if he was short I am sure he could request people to press the floor 35 button; he could also jump and press the 35th; he could use his pen or pencil to press 35; he could even remove his shoe and use it to press 35; he could use his file folder bag."

>Some people just have trouble reaching the heights of their potential.
And others find Politically Correct ways to describe those who are altitudinally challenged.
